Late 1990’s Patek Philippe Reference 5065J Full Tritium With Extract Ordered

£72,450.00

What We Love

By now, it’s no secret we’re fully won over by the neo-vintage Aquanaut. Its aesthetic resonates far more with us than the modern counterparts, especially when you factor in the proportions. This particular piece is the yellow gold 38mm Ref. 5065, far less common to find than its steel sibling and one that offers noticeably more presence on the wrist.

The case is impressively sharp and in excellent condition. The watch has undergone a light polish in the past, evident only in the remarkably minimal signs of wear, especially impressive for a piece circa 25 years old. The dial is an early tritium variant, matched with tritium hands, details that are increasingly hard to come by and lend a warmer, more vintage character compared to later luminova versions. It’s paired with a gold butterfly clasp, functioning perfectly, and we will source a brand-new strap of the buyer’s choosing from the Patek Salon here in London.

An official Patek Philippe Archive Extract has been ordered and will accompany the watch following the sale.

What You Should Know

At most, you may find the faintest hairline marks, but overall the watch presents in outstanding, near-mint condition. In our view, this reference wears best on wrists of around 17.5cm or larger though, as always, that comes down to personal preference.
