Late 1990's Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5066 Tritium With Extract Ordered

£34,500.00

What We Love

Full tritium examples are increasingly hard to find, as they were produced for only a short period before the transition to Luminova on the hands, followed by the dials around 2000. This watch comes fitted with the “Marmite” bracelet, read on if you’re a fan (like I am), or feel free to skip ahead if it’s not your style.

The dial is truly exceptional, featuring rich, creamy hour markers complemented by hands in a beautiful tone. It’s one of the most visually striking examples we’ve come across. The case remains in very good condition, while not unpolished, it shows signs of careful wear and is extremely comfortable on the wrist.

The high-polish bracelet adds a bold, eye-catching presence, especially in sunlight where it reflects brilliantly. It’s a look I personally enjoy, and one that’s less commonly appreciated, which only adds to its appeal. The butterfly clasp functions perfectly, and the bracelet will fit wrists up to 19cm, with easily removable links for adjustment.

An Extract from the Archives has also been ordered and will follow the sale.

What You Should Know

Light signs of wear are present across the case and bracelet, mainly in the form of fine hairlines and minor surface scratches, nothing of real note or concern.

With a 36mm case and a 42mm lug-to-lug measurement, the watch wears exceptionally well on the wrist and feels far from small. In fact, it often surprises people, perhaps expectations are skewed, or wrists aren’t quite as large as imagined. I’ll leave that for you to decide.
