What we love — This exceptional and rare early skeletonised chronograph from the maison represents the first iteration of the model, distinguished by its round pushers and tone-on-tone outer minute track, features that set it apart from the subsequent reference.

The case is beautifully preserved, retaining its sharp proportions, thick lugs, and deeply stamped hallmarks. At its heart lies the magnificent, hand-skeletonised Caliber 1141SQ, based on the legendary Lemania ébauche and finished to the highest standards of Geneva watchmaking.

The watch is accompanied by its original pin buckle and swing tag from the time of purchase. It is believed that fewer than 100 examples of this reference were produced across both yellow gold and platinum, underscoring its rarity and importance within Vacheron Constantin’s chronograph lineage.

What you should know — A Vacheron Constantin archive extract has been ordered and will accompany the sale. The outer case back, the portion that rests on a surface when laid flat, has been polished in the past. While the case number remains visible, some polishing marks are evident on this surface. The watch shows light, superficial wear, and a warm patina is naturally developing across the case, adding character to its appearance.
