What I love — One of just a handful Platinum examples to come to market with only 2 ‘A Series’ known, this being one of them. These Breguet perpetuals are starting to gain interest amongst collectors looking for high craftsmanship in the 80/90’s away from the usual suspects. Breguet from this period was designed and led by Daniel Roth with the watches displaying exquisite dial/case work and historically relevant designs.
The condition on this watch is extremely good, the dial is near pristine with the hand done engine turned guilloche patterns being the highlight. The case is sharp with thick lugs and engravings crisp. The platinum is bright and compliments the dial perfectly with the pop of blue for the handset being the cherry on the cake.
This is a nice opportunity to pickup a rare variant of the reference and one I feel is somewhat overlooked vs more ‘popular’ brands.
What you should know — Light wear from use across the case. The watch comes with a correct 18k white gold pin pusher and chain, softer metal than the case to reduce chance of damage when operating, and what appears to be a later added Breguet 18k white gold pin buckle. White gold pin buckles are often seen on platinum watches across many brands from this period.
