2021 Patek Philippe Nautilus Perpetual Calendar 5740 White Gold Full Set

£177,100.00

What We Love

A modern Patek Philippe Nautilus Perpetual Calendar that genuinely wears as well as it looks, especially on a smaller wrist (like mine!). Featuring my favourite complication, the perpetual calendar, this is a watch I’ve admired from the sidelines for a long time, so having one in stock feels pretty special. Powered by the ultra-thin self-winding calibre 240 Q, the 5740 marked the first time the Nautilus line received a Grand Complication reference, while also becoming Patek Philippe’s thinnest perpetual calendar at launch.

Stylistically, it sits in a really nice place between modern and neo-vintage collecting, which is part of what makes it so appealing to me. It’s often called the best Nautilus ever made and I can completely see why, but for me it’s the proportions and the complication that really set it apart from the rest.

This example has been preserved very nicely. It’s clearly been worn and enjoyed, which is exactly what you want to see, and hopefully the next owner continues in the same spirit rather than locking it away. The dial is immaculate and I especially like the darker tones it throws out when the light catches it at different angles. The watch comes complete with everything supplied from new including the swing tag, papers, box set, winding box and accessories. It’s obviously a hellishly expensive watch, but in a market where the 5712R comfortably lists £200k +, this starts to feel really quite interesting, complication and history aside.

What You Should Know

Light wear from use, the watch is unpolished and hasn’t been serviced since purchase however currently running and operating great. The sale will include a complimentary service at Patek Philippe within the first year if desired.
