2014 Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar 5140 Rose Gold Full Set

What We Love

The Patek Philippe Ref. 5140 feels like a really elegant evolution of the 3940, presented here in a genuinely lovely colourway. I absolutely love the crisp white text against the rich golden-brown dial, especially when paired with the softly recessed sub-dials and sharp serif PP signature. The dial typography on these is always a talking point and while I do still prefer the classic 3940 fonts, this has an entirely different feel and aesthetic to it.

The way the watch wears is a huge part of the appeal too. It’s undeniably a more modern take, but still from an era where the proportions feel balanced and considered. This example is in great condition and comes complete with everything from new.

The dial is genuinely mesmerizing in person, constantly shifting in tone depending on the light, while the rose gold case really comes alive in the sun. The 5140 has definitely been a slow burner for me, but the more time I spend around them, the more I appreciate them. It may not be a rare watch, but it’s a very lovely one.

What You Should Know

The case shows typical wear from use in the form of light scratches/hairlines, no chips or dints etc but it has been enjoyed. The hallmarks are deep on the case back and the strap is 3rd party not Patek Philippe although one can be sourced if preferred.
