What We love — The very first Royal Oak Chronograph, this reference debuted in 1997 and reached the market in 1998. This particular example has been exceptionally well preserved, retaining its original tritium “petite tapisserie” dial and matching handset. The case and bracelet remain razor sharp, showing little to no stretch, a testament to careful ownership. The original clasp is still present and bears the coveted Gay Frères maker’s mark. Early examples of this reference are increasingly difficult to find, especially in such original and well-preserved condition, making this one impossible to pass up. Famed for adorning the wrist of chess grandmaster and Garry Kasparov. Set includes, watch, boxset, papers, original purchase receipt and swing tag (with serial on it).

What you should know — Showing only very minor wear from use, the case measures 39mm. We would recommend it for wrists measuring approximately 17.5cm and above, as it naturally wears larger than our usual preference for midsize Royal Oaks.
