What I love — A full set and near pristine early platinum example, sold here in London in 1992. I see less of these early platinums come to market that the first series in yellow and for those looking for a stealth 3940 this is the one!

The case is preserved extremely well, bright in color and hallmarks on case side crisp and deep, some of the best platinum hallmarks I’ve personally seen. The dial is immaculate, fonts sharp and pointy just how I like them with the 9 o’clock day/night indicator showing some lovely natural aging/patina, very cool indeed! The moon disc is original and correct featuring yellow moon/stars differing to later production examples, the SWISS at 6 o’clock also sitting below the mint track as it should. The watch comes complete with all the paperwork, booklets and box set from new including the original pin pusher. This really is a wild set to find plus it was sold here in London in 1992, just a cool titbit being a UK dealer. So to summerize, if you’re looking for a special 3940 in platinum, this is it.

What you should know — The Patek Philippe deployant is platinum however not original to the set. The watch would have originally come on a pin buckle.
