What I Love — The elusive pink vieux panier guilloché dial set in a platinum case. Production for the platinum reference is believed to be around 300 pieces, with most fitted with a white matte dial; only a small and undocumented number were delivered with the pink dial. I have found 7 pink dial examples listed publicly, spread throughout the production period. What captivates me most is how the guilloché shifts from vertical matte striping to a glossy checkerboard depending on the light and angle. The high-polish outer ring adds a subtle two-tone effect and beautifully frames the dial. The dial itself is immaculate. The case is very well preserved, with deep, crisp engravings and hallmarks, and notably thick lugs. The watch is paired with a platinum VC pin buckle, its hallmarks indicate slightly later production, though it remains stylistically correct. Overall, an extremely striking piece and my favourite VC dial to date.

What You Should Know — There is a small chip on the 7 o’clock lug that can be felt with a fingernail. The bezel had a knock at 1 o’clock position back in time although very tricky to capture in a photo. Light wear is present on the case and buckle consistent with age and use. A Vacheron Constantin Archive Extract has been ordered and will accompany the sale once received.
