1982 Patek Philippe Nautilus 3800J MK1 Full Tritium With PP Extract and 2026 Service
What We Love
Our favourite case and dial configuration, and the earliest 3800 we’ve ever had in stock.
The dial is the coveted Mk1 variant with the accent above Genève, preserved beautifully and paired with the correct thick-font black date wheel. The original tritium hands remain in place, matching the lume on the dial perfectly. Aesthetically, this early dial, handset and date wheel combination is exactly how we like to see a 3800.
The case shows honest wear from a life well lived but remains in superb condition, retaining rarely seen French import hallmarks on the case side. The watch was originally owned by a French family, adding a lovely touch of provenance.
The bracelet is exceptionally tight with little to no stretch, and the Calatrava logo on the clasp remains wonderfully crisp. Overall, this is exactly the sort of example we love: fully original, recently serviced, with the dial confirmed on the Archive Extract. Best of all, it has enough honest wear that you’ll actually enjoy wearing it rather than feeling the need to baby it.
We’re genuinely delighted to be offering this one for sale.
What You Should Know
Fresh back from a mechanical-only service at Patek Philippe. Interestingly, it’s one of the earliest examples they’ve seen and still retains the first-generation automatic movement with the cut-out Calatrava logo on the rotor (nerdy details for the win).
There are scratches across the watch from wear, but that’s part of the charm. It’s the sort of example you can throw on, wear, and genuinely enjoy without worrying about every little mark.
