Aesthetically, this one ticks all the boxes. The MK1 gold dial, confirmed by the Extract from the Archives, is paired with the thick-font black date disc and original tritium handset, exactly the combination you want to see.
The watch has just been polished and presents beautifully, with the original case lines and sharp edges retained, while the clasp and its logo remain in excellent condition.
A wonderful alternative to the steel variant, which now trades at roughly £20k more. The watch is accompanied by its Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives, confirming it as one of the very early examples of the reference. 3800 was launched in 1981 for reference.
What You Should Know
The bracelet shows some stretch, although it will still hold the watch upright when placed clasp-down. It will fit a wrist of up to approximately 17.5cm.
There are a few very minor blemishes to the dial, which are difficult to spot unless specifically looking for them and have been reflected in the price. The underside of the bracelet at 6 o’clock also shows some wear to a couple of links, please see photos for detail.
