What I love — Sold in Manchester in December 1986, this watch is accompanied by its original purchase documentation from Mappin & Webb. The case, bracelet, and bezel were restored in collaboration with Pendulum Lab in Pisa, addressing signs of wear while retaining correct period geometry and finishing. The aim was simply to return the watch to a sharper, more representative example. Before-and-after images are available on Pendulum Lab’s Instagram and clearly illustrate the quality of the work. The results are excellent: the case lines are crisp, the watch wears exceptionally well, and the overall aesthetic feels properly rebalanced. The red “Daytona” text remains bright, the sunburst dial is particularly attractive, and the dial, bracelet, clasp, end links, and bezel are all correct for the year.

What you should know — Hands are tritium but service examples. The pushers highly likely service with the watch being 1979, watch has the last variant of pusher with the indented line. Finally plot 3 is missing, 9 and 2 has partial lume loss.
