Thought to be just 400 units produced across yellow gold, rose gold and steel making it a rather hard to find model, especially in great condition such as this one. The ref. 5585 was the coming together of 2 complications from the 6 masterpieces, the chronograph and the perpetual calendar. Interestingly the watch was the thinnest perpetual calendar chronograph of its time, beating the likes of the Patek Philippe ref. 3970 + it is automatic!
The case condition is superb, crisp and sharp. The lugs are think and only minor wear marks to report, no major dings. The dial is the highlight for sure, only the rose gold Blancpains feature a champagne like shimmer finish on the dial vs the more commonly seen flat white finish. The dial here coming in near perfect condition.
The watch is accompanied by its original 18k rose gold pin buckle and Handnn custom strap. A rare collectors piece from the neo-vintage period packing serious complication punch for the price tag. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I do.
